My puppy is crazy and wild and i need advice ive tried to use my own and it doesnt work?

he is a pit bull black lab mix. he still does his business in the house at night. he cant wait till morning. he refuses to keep his paws down and everytime you go to pet him he puts his paw up so you can pet him on the head. he is hyper and he chews everything. he jumps on everyone and scratches them. he wont listen when you tell him to get down and he basically doesnt like to listen at all.

when i take him for walks he refuses to heal(walk slowly no pulling) and he rips and pulls me as i walk him. when we are walking it is like he is in a zone and doesnt kno im there. what can i do to help him.

sadly i cant take him to training right now.My puppy is crazy and wild and i need advice ive tried to use my own and it doesnt work?
Try watching the dog whisperer...a lot of times he works with disobedient dogs, and shows their owners how to manage them.My puppy is crazy and wild and i need advice ive tried to use my own and it doesnt work?
It depens on how old he is. You can't excpect a very young puppy to be completly housebroken, but if he is old enough, you need to make sure he goes potty before bed and as SOON as you get up. Get him into a habit. And you don't need to take him to training, do it yourself. Dogs are a lot smarter then we give them credit for. It just takes repitition and praise for a job well done. I don't know about the pitbull side but I have 3 labs and they learned very quickly it just took spending the time to teach them. Also, we watched the dog whisperer a lot. I know it sounds corny, but some of his stuff really works!! Especially the walking stuff. I can walk my 120lb, 90lb, and 40lb lab all together, and I weigh about 130! (And yes, I know they are overweight!)

Anyway, it's going to take some work and time on your part to train your pup. Be patient, if you train him well know, when he does grow out of the puppy stages (usually about 2 yrs for that size dog) he will be a great, trained dog.

Oh, and that's another thing, when my two boys turned two it was like night and day, one day they were eating the couch and the next day they were SO much calmer! I don't know what it was... must be puberty!
The business part will be easy. When I got my new puppy(JRT/MIX)I was determined to not have a dog that had accidents.I got him a pet taxi, just a little bigger than him.I brought him home in it.Then left him in it about 30 mins when we got home.Took him outside and said outside.he walked around for a while then went.I rewarded with a good boy and we went inside ,back to taxi(he was scared)I left it open for him.Every 2 hours out we went to same spot.Never any trouble. He goes to bed in the taxi now,at first I locked it up and took him out every 3 hours,Now he's 7 months and good to go.Give it a try, remember they have to run and play and chew.Buy him toys and when he chews anything else get his attention and give him his toy.He will remember the toys and the no chews.hope this helps.
First thing first, get a crate and put him in it at night and anytime he is alone. Crate training is one of the best ways to house break a dog. Second, you didnt say how old he was, but start looking for basic obedience training classes. Do some research on the web or go to the Library and look for books on training that you can do, and FOLLOW THE ADVICE!!! Don't try training for one day or two then say he can't learn. He can, but you need to be persistant.
1. Buy a crate and crate train for housebreaking. The crate will also help relieve you of the chewing and jumping issues.

2. Train that dog NOW. http://www.leerburg.com You could not take that dog to training classes as it behaves now anyway - so start on your own and remember dogs have only about a 10 minute tolerance for training so you need to do it bit by bit everyday!

There are lots of places on the internet which will help you learn how to train your animal. It won't cost you a dollar. You better teach that dog who's boss now before it's bigger than you.

Your dog should be walking either beside you or BEHIND you when you're walking. He should NEVER be in the lead. He should not go through gates or doors before you. He should not be on the furniture. Teach him NOW!
You and your puppy need to find a good training school or trainer -- they can help you with your problems. His behavior is very typical of his breed(s) and most likely age. He needs consistent training. Sometimes you can use books from the library and follow the directions in them.

If you cannot take him to training school, then maybe a private lesson or two would help. You don't say how old your puppy is, or whether or not he is neutered -- puppies are often busy and bossy.

I would use a crate at night and whenever you are not home -- he will learn to be house broken much more quickly using a crate and he will be safe from chewing things (such as electrical cords) that could hurt him.
If you can't take him to training then buy a Gentle Lead collar and try him with that.
